For me personal training is more about getting to know my clients on a deeper level and understanding their “why” and what drives them. It’s so much more than just designing a personalised health and fitness program, the connections that are made through this style of training are really important to me and I believe have helped shape me to become the coach that I am.
When someone comes to me for guidance in this area of their life, it’s generally because they’re lacking motivation and having someone like myself to hold them accountable is what they’re after. I always feel super honoured to be that person for them.
One of the most important parts of the PT coaching process is helping my clients reevaluate how they view their health and wellness, so often what they believe they’re wanting to get from the programs (lose weight, a smaller dress size) isn’t usually what they’re searching for at all, and it just takes them learning different goal setting strategies and open discussions to figure this out. By setting small maintainable goals, it helps to set them up for the true success and happiness they are after – and this for me, is why I do what I do.
